Make your glass shower wall shine again | Step-by-step guide & golden tips
A glass shower wall looks stunning but shows every spot and smear. Often, white limescale starts to appear after just a few uses. The good news? Cleaning and descaling a glass shower wall is easy with these handy tips. You’ll be able to enjoy a sparkling shower wall for a long time without constantly scrubbing.
Step 1. Ventilate well
Open the doors and windows or turn on the ventilation. This is important for your health, as the steam from cleaning products, especially bathroom and descaling agents, is not ideal to breathe in.
Step 2. Rinse with warm water
Rinse the inside of the shower cabin with warm water to loosen any dirt before you start cleaning.
Step 3. Clean the outside
Wipe down the outside of the shower cabin with a damp cloth. Don’t forget the top edges to ensure all grime is removed.
Step 4. Apply cleaner
Spray both the inside and outside of the shower cabin with your favorite cleaning product. Our recommendation? Use a mixture of boiled water and cleaning vinegar for effective cleaning.
Step 5. Let it sit
Allow the cleaning product to sit for 30 minutes (or according to the instructions on the package). This helps dissolve dirt and limescale, making cleaning easier. Use this time to tackle the rest of the bathroom.
Step 6. Clean
Clean the cabin with a damp sponge. The cleaner will have made this easier. Use a soft sponge to avoid scratches or dullness. Always work from top to bottom and rinse the sponge regularly.
Step 7. Rinse the inside
Rinse the inside of the shower cabin with warm water. Dry the cabin with a Minismus squeegee and then wipe with a clean cloth. If you have a large shower cabin, use the Minismus XXL squeegee for quick drying.
Step 8. Clean the outside
Use the clean cloth you used for the inside to wipe down the outside of the cabin. Remove any residue from the cleaning product and grime, and rinse the cloth if necessary.
Step 9. Dry the outside
Dry the outside with a dry cloth to prevent mold growth. For additional tips on preventing mold, read our blog with tips and advises here. You can also use a towel for this step.
By following these steps, you'll keep your shower cabin clean and fresh, and reduce the chance of mold growth!
